APAICS 10TH Annual Gala Dinner:

APAICS 10TH Annual Gala Dinner: The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) is the premier Asian American public advocacy organization in the United States. APAICS seeks to build a politically empowered Asian Pacific American (APA) population, to be the political pipeline for APAs to enter and advance into elected office and to act as a resource to Congress about the APA community. In May 2004, APAICS will be holding its 10th annual Gala dinner. Limited seats will be reserved for Gala attendees. ALL TICKETS HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED.

BBQ:

Private BBQ reserved for VANG Gala sponsors, elected officials, dignitaries, awardees, and other VIP guests. Invited guests are requested to meet in front of the Capital Hilton at 4:00 PM sharp. We will shuttle you to-and-from the designated location. If you are driving, please contact us for address and driving instructions.

Viet Nam War Memorial - Remembrance Ceremony:

A remembrance ceremony to honor the sacrifices made by many American servicemen, Vietnamese servicemen, and the Vietnamese American graduates of the West Point Military Academy, Air Force Academy, and the Naval Academy. The ceremony will take place at the Vietnam War Memorial. Flowers shall be placed during the remembrance ceremony to pay tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to ensuring that freedom reigns. We will not be providing transportation to-and-from the Viet Nam War Memorial.

Pre-Gala Reception @ Congressional Room, Capital Hilton:

We will be hosting a pre-gala reception at the Congressional Room (on the second floor) at the Capital Hilton Hotel, located 1001 16th Street, NW, (corner of K Street,) Washington, D.C. to allow everyone an opportunity to meet and greet prior to the dinner gala. Refreshments and hors d’oeuvre will be provided. The event is scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM and will conclude at 6:00 PM.

White House Briefing:

There will be a special briefing at The White House complex as part of the Vietnamese American National Gala celebration. The briefing will take place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Builiding (EEOB.) Please arrive promtly at 9AM at the "Northwest Gate) (near the intersection of 17th & Pennsylvania Avenue) of The White House. Bring a government-issued photo-ID. THE BRIEFING IS BY INVITATION ONLY. YOUR NAME MUST APPEAR ON THE "APPROVED" LIST TO BE DISTRIBUTED ON SUNDAY, MAY 9TH AT THE PRE-GALA RECEPTION.

Put on your tuxedo, evening gown or “ao dai” and join us in this historic black tie event to honor distinguished individuals and organizations for their contributions to the Vietnamese American community and America.
